We asked YL Canada team members and leaders what empowerment means to them. Here’s what they shared!

What YL product makes you feel empowered?
My most used essential oil in the history of ever would be VALOR! It’s been a favourite since I first started using it 8 years ago. And today, when you see me walking up on stage, you can darn well bet I’m LAYERED in Valor and likely have a bottle or two on my person at all times.
Who is an empowering mentor in your life?
Hands down it would be my mom, Angie Breitkreitz. She taught me that it’s possible to be a successful businesswoman and entrepreneur AND an amazing mother at the same time.
My parents owned a retail business when I was growing up and she worked out of her home office until my younger brother and I were both in school full time. When I was 13, I started working for my parents’ business at the front desk. I was in charge of face-to-face customer service, trouble shooting, scheduling – and they even had me doing cold sales calls. Not going to lie, I never liked that last bit, but it taught me what it took to be successful! I can’t imagine where I would be if it wasn’t for the love and influence of my mother. She was the very first person who said yes when I invited her to join me in Young Living, she’s one of my hardest working team members today and the very top of my BIGGEST team!
Today, my four children are witnessing the next generation of the lessons my mother taught me and my girls are being raised up to be empowered women themselves. My 11-year-old can’t wait for the day she’s allowed to open her own Young Living account! And I have no doubt she’ll surpass us both because empowered women raise empowered women.

After a long day, I enjoy my nighttime routine! A combination of Frankincense, Tea Tree, Geranium and Copaiba in my night cream brings both an energy and sense of empowerment that completes my day!

What are your favourite ways to empower yourself day-to-day?
Taking time to myself each day to do a quick meditation and make a list of things to accomplish for the week makes me feel so empowered! Working my Young Living business and being able to stay home and take care of our home and family feels like a lot some days, but when I take time to myself to do these important things it makes me feel my most empowered.

We are cultivating communities that are wanting more and are unwilling to settle for less. Empowered individuals dramatically improve the wellbeing of their families, their communities and the world. It multiplies the impact when we all buy in to helping others. I love being part of a group of people who have a serious thing for multiplication!

And of course, since I am on the Operations team, I can’t help but be empowered by process!

Without a second thought, Valor is one of my favorite products to make me feel empowered! As an introvert, I often find social situations or new experiences to be quite intimidating and just downright terrifying at times. Just having that ability to grab the oil, take a few deep breaths and bring myself back to center provides me with a sense of calm and confidence to face those situations head on. To have some physical control over the emotions my body feels is both powerful and empowering.
How does YL empower women?
Young Living gives women the tools, ability and confidence to take control of their wellness. With the community created through Young Living, women are empowered to embrace the role of the gatekeeper of the home and make informed decisions that benefit themselves and their families. Just knowing that there are hundreds of thousands of women around the world joining together and saying yes to wellness and natural living is such an inspiring thought and something I’m so proud to be part of! I’ll be forever grateful to the community of women that welcomed me with open arms, shared with me, learned with me and inspired me to welcome others into this community.

To me, empowerment means choice. As a nurse, a mother, a wife and as a friend, YL offers me unlimited choices of empowerment. Who is an empowering mentor in your life?
An empowering mentor in my life is a friend that I met through YL, Harmony Patterson. She taught me from the beginning of my oily journey to believe in myself and believe in a better way, while always holding me to a higher standard – and just loving me for being me. Harmony taught me about a healthier way of living physically, emotionally and spiritually. She supported me in making educated choices and encouraged me to always be the best I could be.
I appreciate the fact that, because of network marketing, I have met some of the most influential people in my life. I can only hope that I continue to strive to be a positive influence in others’ lives, the way that Harmony has been for me!

What YL product makes you feel empowered?
As a mom, you take extra ownership over what products are used and how they are used in your home. I am the gatekeeper of my home and I originally joined Young Living with the Thieves Premium Starter Kit. I fell in LOVE with the laundry soap! I had used other brands with many scents and dyes previously, not realizing all the unnecessary and often harmful ingredients in them. It was the beginning of falling in love with natural, plant-based products and I am so thankful to have these goods shipped to my house every single month!
How has being a woman shaped your career?
I probably wouldn’t have joined the business side of Young Living unless I was home raising my three girls already. I am so thankful every day that I get to talk to so many other women and men of all demographics and share the love of natural living. I love being able to contribute financially to our home, in coordination with raising three busy girls. You have full ownership over your business and how much time you put in. Being your own boss is the best!
