Hello Michelle! V-6 oil and vegetable glycerin have different properties and might not react the same on the skin. We suggest that you test out a small patch on your face before applying to the entire face. Please let us know if you have any more questions. Have a great day!

Any concerns regarding possible negative reaction once out under the sun?
Hello Denise. That is a great question! The oils provided in this recipe are not labeled as photosensitive. However, if you use different oils, be sure to check the labels beforehand to make sure they are not photosensitive. Thanks so much for stopping by with your question.
My daughter likes a matte finished look. Does this spray give a matte or shiney appearance?
Hello Diana. It shouldn’t make your skin overly shiny, but I wouldn’t say it is a matte finish either. Much of how the spray will look throughout the day depends on the makeup type used and the skin type of the user. Hope that helps!
Would this help with powder makeup as well or just liquid foundation?
Hello Nina. It is meant to be used for both types of makeup. Hope that helps! Thanks!
I have combination skin! Ugh!!
I would prefer to make my own facial toner and makeup set must. What Young Living Essential Oils would be best for that and does anyone have a recipe to share…
Blessings!
Is this a 2oz or 4oz spray bottle?
Hi Lauren, You will want to use a 4 ounce spray bottle as there is more than 2 ounces of liquid going into it. Thanks for stopping by!
Sounds great! I’m going to try it.
I’m new to using oils and just starting to incorporate them into replacing some of my beauty products.. Not exactly sure what glycerin oil is. Can I use coconut oil? Is that the same or if not what is the difference?
Hello Cindy, We do not feel that straight coconut oil would work the same as glycerin. Most grocery stores do carry vegetable glycerin. We hope this helps. Thanks for stopping by!
Nope. Google vegetable gylercin oil. Grab it on Amazon!
Use 100% vegetable glycerin, available at health food stores and vitamin shops
I use patchouli, rosehip seed, chamomile, evening primrose oil, and witch hazel. Not everyone enjoys the smell of patchouli. I like the mist with or without makeup. It’s great if you are having a dry, blotchy, big pore day.
I like green tea, rosehip seed, lavender, with evening primrose oil any other day. Green tea can be replaced with witch hazel if you notice issues with it soaking in, (it does, I just tend to over mist)
Aloe vera gel or liquid gel is amazing with any mist as well. Most liquid gels contain a large amount of water, so check your product
Hi! Can the spray bottle be plastic? I was told never to mix essential oils in plastic water bottles because the oils draw out the toxins from the plastic, that’s why I’m asking…
Hi Julie, Thanks for stopping by. We do not recommend storing undiluted essential oils in plastic containers. Using essential oils and essential oil products safely in conjunction with plastic containers depends highly on the type of plastic, the concentration of essential oils, and the amount of time the oils are stored in the container or the amount of time the essential oils encounter the plastic parts. We hope this helps clarify your concerns!
Plastic bottles can be used if they are PET plastics.
Is 100% Glycerin and Vegetable Glycerin the same thing?
Hi Orange Gearle, Vegetable Glycerin simply specifies that the glycerin is sourced from vegetables. We hope this information is helpful!
So, silly question, do you spray over the make-up or on the skin before you apply the make-up
Hey Sarah! Not a silly question at all! :) You put the spray on your skin after you put your makeup on. It will help your makeup stay on and make your skin smell nice as a bonus. Hope that helps!
Where do you find the blog getting to know your carrier oils?
Hi Barbara, Here is a link to the post Getting to Know Your Carrier Oils. Hope you enjoy!
Hi there. I’m assuming it’s okay to use a combination of the three oils, correct?
Hey Joan,
Many of the oils are interchangeable. We encourage you experiment and find out what works best for you! When you find that perfect combination, let us know! Thanks for stopping by with your question!
Is there an alternative for frankincense and myrrh?
Hi Yareline, We have not tested the Makeup Setting Spray with alternative essential oils. However, you are free to try out your own customized spray! Thanks for stopping by!
I have very sensitive skin, and have found that I am allergic to Castille soap, and anything with glycerin in the ingredients. However, I am able to use YL bodywash, on my body, just none of the ‘glycerin’ containing products on my face. Yes, it is frustrating. I am desperately seeking an alternative for my ‘picky’ skin.
Does anyone know of any alternatives to use to make my own face wash?
Thanks in advance!
Hi Andrea, We would recommend trying the facial cleanse from our blog post, An Oil Cleanse to Keep Your Skin Timeless-Looking! Thanks for stopping by with your question!
Can you use olive oil instead of glycerin for the setting spray?
Hi Rue, This recipe has not been tested using olive oil instead of glycerin. Olive oil has a thicker consistency and can leave an oily feel on the skin. For other carrier oil options, we recommend viewing our blog post Getting to Know Your Carrier Oils to determine which may be right for you! Thanks for stopping by!
I use neroli and patchouli essential oils with hazelnut and borage seed oil under my eyes for puffiness. Does anyone else have a formula for puffy eyes?
Does your formula reduce puffiness? I’m desperate to find a puffiness remedy!!!
Is there an alternative for frankincense and myrr??
Hi Yareline, We have not tested the Makeup Setting Spray with other essential oils. However, you are free to try out other essential oils of your preference! Thanks for stopping by!
I mix Lavender, Frankincense, glycerin, plain Aloe Vera gel & distilled water in small spray bottle, shake well & spritz my face 4-6 times a day!! Cool & refreshing & my face feels so soft!!!
This sounds fabulous💥
Can’t wait to try it💥👒💥
I use Aloe Very juice instead of gel. Love it!!
Hi Delite Fontenot,
This seemed to be refreshing. Would you please share recipe? love to try .
I use coconut oil, Frankinscense, Lavender and Lemon in my eye cream for dark circles.
Do you find the coconut oil clogs your pores? I was using it, getting under the skin white head, and then read that on a scale of 0 – 5 coconut oil was a 3 with 5 being highly comedogenic. I am wondering if the essential oils prevent this from happening?
I’ve found the best way for me to apply coconut or similar type oils to my face is to use 2-4 drops in the palm of my hand and rub my hands together quickly a few times. Then I pat my fingers and hands all over my face, neck and upper chest area and not to rub it in to prevent clogging pores. I used to tend to have break outs most of my life and rarely get them now.
Can’t wait to try this!!
I love this! Will definitely be in touch when we get home!
Wow!!! Love it!!
I use a homemade foaming face wash with castile soap, vitamin E, frankincense, lavender and water. I also use a toner with apple cider vinegar, frankincense and lavender. Love essential oils in my beauty routine!!!
