Then, I will apply coconut oil on her feet after a 15 minute treatment. I would appreciate feedback and any suggestions. Thanks and happy foot soaking!
My feet recently had a couple of loooong days. I came home and googled essential oil foot soak and came to this site. I love my YL oils and and soaking right now in one of the recipes I found. I think/know this will become a routine for me! Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions too!
I will recommend only OneWorld Corporation if you are in search of best store to buy sandalwood oil. Because this is the store who deals with the premium quality of products. Keep us the good work team.
What is One World? Is this because we were out of Sandalwood?
if your using Epsom salt you should drink during to keep yourself hydrated, and you shouldn’t soak for longer than 15-20 minutes because after this your body will take back what you just pulled out of your body.
LOVE this!!

Thanks for sharing these wonderful recipe tips. I look forward to trying them. :-)
Add some smooth stones to your foot soak for a reflexology session too.
Thanks for all the great ideas! My pedicurist said to do a foot soak for toenail fungus but I am sure adding a variety of oil (especially Thieves) is even better. In winter I use animal scents ointment on my hands at bedtime for cracked hands. Also, Tender Tush is a great hand or foot cream.
I start with a dry brushing of my feet and ankles followed by a soak in a mixture of 2 drops Neroli, 2 drops Peppermint with an overflowing cup of epsom salts.
I have tried several different combinations myself and found that 1 drop of sandalwood and 2 drops of Thieves along with a handful of sea salt works wonderful. After a 20 minute soak in warm water, towel dry and apply V-6 with 2 drops of peppermint to each leg and foot! It leaves your feet and legs soft and cool.
Epsom Salt + Baking Soda + Ginger Essential Oil work great as a foot detox.
My favorite recipe is Epsom salt , 6 drops of Valor, 2 drops Aroma Life, 1 drop Joy. mix in mason jar and cover overnight. Just opening the top and inhaling the aroma is lovely. But pour out some of the mix, add warm water to cover your feet and the aroma is relaxing while soothing tired achyley feet. Perfect after a long hard day on your feet.
I like your blogs and oil tips. I save almost everyone on in a folder for easy access.
This helps me for swollen ankles: I put 2 drops fennel,4 drops cypress and 8 drops tangerine or lemon oil in 1/2cup Epsom salt, stir, then put it in foot bath, warm water and soak feet and ankles. I use the lavender hand and body lotion to keep my feet soft, sometimes I mix 1or2 drops lavender oil in lotion for a better night sleep.
My heels are dry and cracked so terribly bad that nothing has worked for them. I can’t wait to try this! Thank you.
I’ve never thought of using AlkaLime this way–I love it and will add it from now on! I’ve used either peppermint (mid day) or peace and calming (bed time). One year I gave my prayer group containers of Epsom salt as gifts and then let everyone choose what oil to add. They choose peace and calming, joy, and rose. They had a very hard time choosing just one. Next time I will print out these recipes and let them go to town!
Any ideas for someone with super sensitive feet?
I add a Young Living Super C tablet in the water to neutralize any contaminants like chlorine. This helps ensure that I’m getting the health benefits from the oils and magnesium.
these are great…. how about for swollen ankles and knees, poor circulation? thanks.
It’s lavender and peppermint all the way for me. I soak my feet with the Epsom salts and 2 drops each of the peppermint and lavender. No need to make up ahead of time just drop them into the water and mix with your feet. Afterwards I will use coconut oil and lavender and rub it all into my feet. Put my socks on and go to bed. Wake up with smooth clean smelling feet! I will have to try the Animal Scents because I have never used that before. All the recipes sound so wonderful!!!! <3 <3 YLEO
This is fantastic!!! I recently did a foot bath with peppermint oil and followed it with a nice foot rub with frankincense oil and a little coconut oil. I have animal scents on its way and now I am even more excited to get it and try this! :)
Perfect timing – I was just about to mix up a foot bath with my oils for the first time!! Thank you!
Can’t wait to try this! Can you use sea salt instead of Epsom salts?
Thanks for the recipe ideas. I normally soak with Epsom salts and lavender and use Animal Scents before bed. My feet love it. I can’t wait to try these suggestions.
Anything with lavender or peppermint would be relaxing!
Palo Santo was the only oil (out of dozens I tried) that finally relieved a neuroma that I had in my foot. That would be my go-to oil for a foot bath!
Lately, I can’t get enough of Citrus Fresh. So, I thought I would try a salt base of 4 parts Epsom salts, 2 parts Himalayan Pink salt, 1 part sea salt and 15 drops of Citrus Fresh + 5 drops of Lemongrass. The citrus oils being helpful for cleansing and boosting the immune system and lemongrass helpful for several foot maladies. I put a 1/4 cup of the salt/oil mixture into a foot bath filled with warm water. I followed the soak by massaging in a layer of coconut oil (known for its moisturizing, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties) + a few drops of Citrus Fresh for a mini reflexology treatment. The citrus smell makes me think of sunshine and the thought of sunshine makes me feel cheerful :) Hours later, my feet are still tingly and happy.
Thanx Kelly
What is the best brand of coconut oil?
I frequently soak in Epsom salt and then put Aroma Siez and Peace & Calming with coconut lotion on my feet right after and it relaxes me for a great night sleep and softer feet. Those flip flops are hard on the muscles of the feet too!
The Animal Scents ointment is fantastic! My husband and I now use it more on us than on our dog who rarely needs it. It’s great for moisturizing both hands and feet!
I like to use lavender and Epsom salts or Thieves.
I love the recipe posts. I can’t wait to try this!
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis so I have found it life changing to use these oils on my hands and feet to ease the pain and stiffness.
I use 2 pans for my feet, one with warm water and one with cool water.
I put a cup or 2 of Epsom salt in the warm water + Valor-energy balance & Purification-germ killing (about 3-5 drops of each),
Then I put Sacred Mountain in the cool water. It helps me relax even though the water is not warm. If it is flu season I add or replace with Thieves oil (about 3-5 drops of each),
I soak my feet for a few minutes in the warm mixture and then in the cool and go back and forth until both buckets are the same temp. This helps open your pores and gets your blood flowing, moving all the stagnant blood that pools at your feet-great for swollen ankles.
I then dry off my feet (or hands depending what I am soaking) and apply the Deep Relief Roll-on to my tender spots, put on socks (or sometimes gloves) and go to bed.
All night long my feet/hands are buzzing, I know the oils are working and I feel so much better for days.
My favorite foot soak or therapeutic bath when feeling under the weather or on a cleansing program is to mix the following ingredients together
2 cups of baking soda
1 cup Epsom salts
2 tbsp powdered mustard
15 drops Wintergreen
8 drops Eucalyptus
8 drops Rosemary
8 drops Thyme
4 drops Aroma Siez
Mix the ingredients together and store in an airtight jar.
Use 2-3 tbsp in warm water for a foot soak
Use 1-1.5 cup of the mixture to warm bath water for a full body detoxification
The combination of these oils with the mustard are excellent for opening up the bodies pores and relieving congestion, sore muscles, help induce deeper sleep and de-stress the body.
It is important to rinse with cool water after the bath or foot soak. The body will sweat quite a bit after this treatment, so I would advise to not apply any creams or lotions and to drink plenty of water to help rehydrate the body.
Happy detoxing :)
