Ready to show off a little skin this summer? All this warm weather has us trading in our jeans for cool shorts, our sweaters for tees, and boots for sandals. Your skin will glow this season with our simple tips for keeping it looking luminous and healthy!
-
Exfoliate
Your skin is constantly working to regenerate. As this process happens, dead skin cells move to the surface. Buildup of dead skin cells can dull your complexion and suck up the moisture and benefits from your skin care products. As you get older, this process slows, increasing buildup.
That’s where exfoliation comes in. Using a gentle exfoliator one to three times a week removes dead skin, helping your inner beauty shine through. Pay attention to how your skin reacts, though, since over-exfoliation can irritate the skin and cause reddening—you know your skin best!
We love our new Lavender-Oatmeal Bar Soap for gently exfoliating your body with oat bran, leaving your skin feeling soft and supple.
If you prefer using a body gel, try using an exfoliating glove or a gentle salt scrub as part of your shower routine.
-
Moisturize
Once you’ve exfoliated, give back to your skin with your favorite moisturizer! Moisturizer is the easiest way to get back your glow while helping your skin look and feel softer and smoother.
Moisturize immediately after bathing by patting your skin dry with a towel, locking in moisture. Give the sensitive skin on your face added hydration with our ART® Light Moisturizer or brighten and even the appearance of skin tone with Sheerlumé™. If you already use a facial moisturizer you love but love the benefits of essential oils, try mixing a small amount of Frankincense or Cedarwood to your daily application of liquid foundation to help your skin look dewy all day long.
Increase the moisture in the air of your workspace with a humidifying diffuser like our Dewdrop™, Home, or Bamboo diffusers.

Take care of yourself
Look and feel your best by following these three easy tips:
Sleep
Your grandmother’s beauty sleep is one of the best ways to rejuvenate your body and skin every single day. The Mayo Clinic has a great resource to see how much sleep you need each night, depending on your age and other factors.
Hydrate
Like the rest of your body, your skin dries out when you aren’t drinking enough water. Ensure you stay hydrated by keeping a reusable, spill-proof water bottle on hand at your desk, running errands, or even around the house. Flavor your water by infusing it with Vitality essential oils and fruit. You’ll love the burst of flavor, and your body will love the hydration!
Eat Healthy
Give your body the nutrients it needs! Research suggests that eating a diet full of antioxidant-rich foods like carrots, apricots, leafy greens, tomatoes, blueberries, legumes, fatty fish, and nuts can help improve your overall health and with it, your skin’s appearance.
This summer, be confident in your own beautiful skin! These easy tips are just a few ways to start, if you haven’t already.
Would love to win :)

I went to the beauty conference in Utah in April and Melissa P. talked about doing one thing for ourselves every night before we go to bed, to wash our faces. I am a busy mom. Busy like 10 children and I homeschool. Like really-really-really busy. By the time the kids are settled in I just want to crawl into bed and read for an hour and fall asleep but I decided that I would treat myself, take care of myself, really just do a basic thing and wash my face before I go to bed. I bought the Orange Blossom face wash and the Satin Facial Scrub Mint along with some toner and the Sheerlume’. I have been using the scrub every other day and the Orange Blossom daily morning and night and after each wash I use the toner and than apply the Sheerlume’. I am just happy. I am so glad I bought these products and now this busy mama takes 10 minutes to pamper herself after a busy day and is loving the benefits!
The wolf berry eye cream is a great addition to my nightly skin care regimen!
Use sun protection! I like to use a tinted moisturizer with SPF built in so it’s done without worry of forgetting.
I’ve made a roller blend with frankincense, lavender and geranium, topped off with coconut oil.
Since last fall, I have added Lavender Young Living Oil to my nightly beauty routine.
I love the ART skincare line, orange blossom wash, mint scrub, Wolfberry eye cream, bowselia wrinkle cream, would love to try the Sheerlume. Also, there are YLEO’s singles and blends.
I’ve just started to use frankincense and manuka in my moisturizer.
Love this!
Recently I started mixing 1 tbl sp coconut oil, 1 tbl sp baking soda, and 10 drops of my favorite Young Living oil and rub on my feet. Then I walk around my house with fuzzy socks on. My feet are ready for summer!
I made a salt and sugar scrub with my YL essential oils! I also use a serum with frankincense and a facial wash that I made with YL oils. :) (Not in that order though!)
Going to try exfoliating and adding Frankincense for dewy skin!
I love using the mint facial scrub a couple times a week. It’s so gentle. Followed by some Frankincense in my ART moisturizer for an easy summer glow.
I’m a 19 year old male and have used a pumice cleanse face wash for my face each night for exfoliation for the past several years. These products look great and the article was very informative!
