Ready to show off a little skin this summer? All this warm weather has us trading in our jeans for cool shorts, our sweaters for tees, and boots for sandals. Your skin will glow this season with our simple tips for keeping it looking luminous and healthy!
-
Exfoliate
Your skin is constantly working to regenerate. As this process happens, dead skin cells move to the surface. Buildup of dead skin cells can dull your complexion and suck up the moisture and benefits from your skin care products. As you get older, this process slows, increasing buildup.
That’s where exfoliation comes in. Using a gentle exfoliator one to three times a week removes dead skin, helping your inner beauty shine through. Pay attention to how your skin reacts, though, since over-exfoliation can irritate the skin and cause reddening—you know your skin best!
We love our new Lavender-Oatmeal Bar Soap for gently exfoliating your body with oat bran, leaving your skin feeling soft and supple.
If you prefer using a body gel, try using an exfoliating glove or a gentle salt scrub as part of your shower routine.
-
Moisturize
Once you’ve exfoliated, give back to your skin with your favorite moisturizer! Moisturizer is the easiest way to get back your glow while helping your skin look and feel softer and smoother.
Moisturize immediately after bathing by patting your skin dry with a towel, locking in moisture. Give the sensitive skin on your face added hydration with our ART® Light Moisturizer or brighten and even the appearance of skin tone with Sheerlumé™. If you already use a facial moisturizer you love but love the benefits of essential oils, try mixing a small amount of Frankincense or Cedarwood to your daily application of liquid foundation to help your skin look dewy all day long.
Increase the moisture in the air of your workspace with a humidifying diffuser like our Dewdrop™, Home, or Bamboo diffusers.

Take care of yourself
Look and feel your best by following these three easy tips:
Sleep
Your grandmother’s beauty sleep is one of the best ways to rejuvenate your body and skin every single day. The Mayo Clinic has a great resource to see how much sleep you need each night, depending on your age and other factors.
Hydrate
Like the rest of your body, your skin dries out when you aren’t drinking enough water. Ensure you stay hydrated by keeping a reusable, spill-proof water bottle on hand at your desk, running errands, or even around the house. Flavor your water by infusing it with Vitality essential oils and fruit. You’ll love the burst of flavor, and your body will love the hydration!
Eat Healthy
Give your body the nutrients it needs! Research suggests that eating a diet full of antioxidant-rich foods like carrots, apricots, leafy greens, tomatoes, blueberries, legumes, fatty fish, and nuts can help improve your overall health and with it, your skin’s appearance.
This summer, be confident in your own beautiful skin! These easy tips are just a few ways to start, if you haven’t already.
I have been using an exfoliating soap three times a week and have seen tremendous improvement on my skin. :)
Great advice. Excited to try the Lavendar-Oatmeal Bar Soap!
I’ve been using a combo of lavender, frankincense, and purification mixed in Shea butter on my face neck and chest. Besides the amazing smell! I just love it!
How exciting to be a part of the oily tribe of young living💞🙋🏼😻
Love all the homemade recipes provided by YL. Have a lot of the oils. Just got in on the June 10 discount. Love using frankincense, lavender, and copiaiba oils in my moisturizer not to mention thieves oil for cleaning and laundry. Love the aroma of all these products!!!
Another great skincare tip is to be careful of getting hair products on your face. If you use hairspray, be sure to cover your face with a cloth to protect from over-spray.
Can’t wait to try these!
Thanks for the tips…we need help!
A.R.T.!
Copaiba is an excellent oil to add to your skin care regime. I’ve added Lemon, Lavender, Frankincense, just a drop or two of Peppermint oil, a few sprinkles of baking soda, Copaiba and Cedarwood to Pure Castille soap to an empty Thieves foamer bottle. Love the fresh scent!
To keep my skin looking beautiful, my daily routine includes using my DIY Lavender face wash. It contains castile soap, vitamin E oil, Young Living Lavender essential oil and water. My face feels clean and the smell is amazing! Great way to start and end my day.
My skin is definitely up to its summer shenanigans!
Love adding frankincense to my daily moisturizer. It has made an incredible difference in my skin. Thank you Young Living.
Getting rid of the emotional baggage. The stress that came with the issues I was dealing with would cause havoc on my skin. Plus, I stopped wearing make up (of any kind) and wash my face every other day with the ART skin care system. :)
Love the lavender bar! Would love to try the oatmeal lavender. Frankincense is amazing. Would love to try our moisturizer. YL covers all areas of my life to support overall wellness.
I am new on my journey with Young Living, but the first thing I did after going through my premium start kit was I came to check out the blogs. I want to know the best ways to take care of myself and my family and this is a great start! Summer is here and what better way to show off the oils and my YL lifestyle than by looking my best with the tips above.
I love the Lemon Sandalwood Soap bar for my skin. I also make my own face serum using Lavender, Frankincense, Tea Tree, and Purification along with rose hip seed oils as carrier.
I love to use coconut oil and Frankincense on my face and neck at night. Be sure to wash face in the morning so you won’t look oily.

Need some beauty products
I have a pretty good collection of YL oils now and I’m in LOVE! I use Myrrh in my face moisturizer as well as Lavender and Frankincense. Love my new bottle of Manuka too!!
I love the new soap bar with lavender and oatmeal!!
I add about 20 drops of the Essential Beauty Serum to maybe 1/4 cup (I don’t really measure) coconut oil in a jar then add on top of my moisturizer at night.
A mixture of Frankincense, lavender, lemon, with coconut Oil and Shea butter.
I would love all of these items!!! I’m going to have to put in a new order again!! I love learning new information about all these amazing products!!!
Love the ART Moisturizer mixed with a little Frankincense. Will have the Lavender Oatmeal bar soap in my next order. Can’t wait to give it a try. YL products are so AWESOME 🙆. Thank you YL!!!
This is more of a beauty tip……I use no nail polish because I love the way my toenail and fingernails look so white after I use baking soda, peroxide and lemon oil. I make a paste and brush it on with an old toothbrush. Let it sit for 8-10 minutes and they stay so white!
I apply homemade balm with YL Frankincense, Myrrh, Lemon EOs.
It’s almost a ritual I do every day when I get home from work. :)
I have been using Frankincense and Lavender before my moisturizer. I think I will try adding it to my foundation. Thanks Young Living for the tips.
To help my skin stay healthy, I make sure that I remove my makeup before bed. I protect my skin from the sun by wearing sunscreen and a hat. I also try to use cosmetics, cleansers and lotions that are free from parabens and phthalates.
I love using the frankincense and lavender mixed with Coconut oil on my skin. I would love to win art moisturizer it sounds wonderful.
I like how you emphasize the lifestyle measures that help our oils to work better: sleep, hydrate and eat healthy!
I love putting a drop of frankincense, lavender or lemon in my daily moisturizer. Sometimes I just use coconut oil and add one of these oils to it. As I get older, I can see how getting the proper amount of rest affects my skin. So, I try doing each of the things that are listed here as consistently as I can.
Great tips! The new lavender-oatmeal bar sounds great, I need help with sloughing off dead skin.
This is great information – not only from Young Living’s post but in the comments everyone is sharing! I’m going to add Cedarwood to my moisturizing oil blend now as well.
