Homemade Body Butter Recipe

Be kind to your hard-working skin! This homemade body butter recipe will leave your skin moisturized and soft, thanks to rich cocoa butter and coconut oil. We love its whipped consistency that goes on smoothly and feels light to the touch.

Whipped Body Butter

Ingredients

  • 1 cup organic coconut oil
  • 1 cup organic solid cocoa butter (do not use lotion)
  • 15 drops of your favorite topical/aromatic essential oil (we love Cedarwood, Lavender, and Frankincense essential oils)

Directions

  1. Warm a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, then add coconut oil and cocoa butter. Melt until completely liquefied, about 4–5 minutes.
  2. Pour into a glass mixing bowl and place in refrigerator for 30–45 minutes to cool and just set but not harden.
  3. Stir in essential oils.
  4. Using an electric hand mixer, whip until firm peaks form, about 10 minutes.
  5. Gently transfer to a seal-able jar or container. Store at room temperature to avoid melting or solidifying.
  6. Massage into dry skin!

  • I'm going to make two batches of this tonight, and mix one with Stress Away to use in the evening and at bedtime, and mix the other with Northern Lights Black Spruce, Lemongrass, and Clove, to use outside.

  • I would love to try with frankincense or possibly stress away?? I love the smell of stress away and can only imagine the yummy goodness of the body butter!

  • I love lemongrass, cypress, and grapefruit in my whipped body butter. So fantastic for supporting the skin. Oh, and it smells fantastic!

  • I am going to try this with Lime and make a Coconut Lime Body Butter. I love coconut and lime together it always smells so clean and fresh.

  • I use Lavender and Stress Away in mine and Gentle Baby and Lavender in my kids. I've been looking for a new combo though.
