Be kind to your hard-working skin! This homemade body butter recipe will leave your skin moisturized and soft, thanks to rich cocoa butter and coconut oil. We love its whipped consistency that goes on smoothly and feels light to the touch.
Whipped Body Butter
Ingredients
- 1 cup organic coconut oil
- 1 cup organic solid cocoa butter (do not use lotion)
- 15 drops of your favorite topical/aromatic essential oil (we love Cedarwood, Lavender, and Frankincense essential oils)
Directions
- Warm a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, then add coconut oil and cocoa butter. Melt until completely liquefied, about 4–5 minutes.
- Pour into a glass mixing bowl and place in refrigerator for 30–45 minutes to cool and just set but not harden.
- Stir in essential oils.
- Using an electric hand mixer, whip until firm peaks form, about 10 minutes.
- Gently transfer to a seal-able jar or container. Store at room temperature to avoid melting or solidifying.
- Massage into dry skin!
I think I want to try Joy and Frankinsence in my body butter!
White Angelica
I love putting in Citrus fresh. Smells like a tropical vacation!
I would add the grapefruit essential because l love anything with that smell. I find it very refreshing and imagine it would feel that way as well. It might not be the most creative but it is simple, invigorating and would put a smile on my face and make my skin happy!
Love this blog! Thank you!
I have not tried whipping lotion however I’ve made lotion bars with cedarwood and lemongrass. Cannot wait to try this recipe. I’m making some with Christmas spirit for holiday gifts:)

Lavender and stress away, tea tree oil and since I have a newborn would even consider using gentle baby oil to make a cream for baby.
Before I even read the recipe, I thought of Lavendar and Frankensense oils. I also think Peppermint, Citrus Fresh, Lemon, Stress Away, maybe even Panaway to be used on sore muscles.
I am a newbie so have not tried a lot of the oils yet.
I LOVE this! I’m going to add Patchouli to mine.
Lavender
This recipe is something I will make using geranium, Orange, and frankincense oils.

Cedarwood, Lavender, and Grapefruit!
Can’t wait to try this! I’m new to YLEO, so not very experienced with blending yet. But I would try Endoflex, for your body, Clarity for your mind, and Stress-Away for your soul. I have no idea if they would smell good together! 😂
I would choose Melrose and Frankincense. I already love this blend. This would be amazing as a body butter.
I will make some for my kids with lavender, cedarwood, and peace and calming, and some for myself with lavender, grapefruit or frankincense. Might even make some for my husband with mister or Idaho or cedarwood…
Definitely need to make some up! This will be a good stocking stuffer!
I wil put peppermint essential oil. The smell is refreshing & makes me feel really fresh & rejuvenated. Hope I can win. Thanks for the lovely giveaway! :)

Lavender or something citrusy!
How do you store the DIY body butter after? How does the shave cream work?
I would like to try Bergamot in the body butter. I enjoy the scent and it calms my spirit.
I would love to try this recipe! I would also want to try to make one with lavender and/or frankincense since they are so helpful to the skin. I would try one with Jasmine too. If I become a millionaire I would like one with rose oil in it. ;)
Dream catcher, frankincense, & rose
Grapefruit and Rose
Honestly, Highest Potential along with Peace & Calming will be my first batch combo.
I will most likely use the wonderful frankensence for this recipe. I have made this before and used lavender which was great, so , yep, frankensence will be my next try.
Stress Away, or orange and peppermint
I make all of my own skin care and love it. One of my most interesting mixtures has vanilla bean and I chose Cardamom. It is my favorite spice and good for senility. How could I go wrong!
I’m going to try Lime !
