Homemade Body Butter Recipe

Be kind to your hard-working skin! This homemade body butter recipe will leave your skin moisturized and soft, thanks to rich cocoa butter and coconut oil. We love its whipped consistency that goes on smoothly and feels light to the touch.

Whipped Body Butter

Ingredients

  • 1 cup organic coconut oil
  • 1 cup organic solid cocoa butter (do not use lotion)
  • 15 drops of your favorite topical/aromatic essential oil (we love Cedarwood, Lavender, and Frankincense essential oils)

Directions

  1. Warm a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, then add coconut oil and cocoa butter. Melt until completely liquefied, about 4–5 minutes.
  2. Pour into a glass mixing bowl and place in refrigerator for 30–45 minutes to cool and just set but not harden.
  3. Stir in essential oils.
  4. Using an electric hand mixer, whip until firm peaks form, about 10 minutes.
  5. Gently transfer to a seal-able jar or container. Store at room temperature to avoid melting or solidifying.
  6. Massage into dry skin!

  • I would use Live your Passion, I get compliments from sooo many people when I apply that one and I love it! If I was making it for someone else, I would probably do some different oils, like Lavender, Frank and Release!

  • Another awesome way to incorporate oils with natural ingredients going toxin free as much as possible

  • For an uplifting scent I like to add orange oil. When I want a relaxing scent I add lavender. I love my home made lotions!

  • I think a blend with cedarwood, rose oil, and frankincense would be fantastic in this body butter.

  • So many oils I would want to use! Lavender and bergamot or lime or peace and calming. Citrus fresh, eucalyptus, peppermint....I can't wait to try this out!

  • I would add orange cinnamon and ginger for a festive fall body butter and i think stress away would be great for a nighttime blend
