Be kind to your hard-working skin! This homemade body butter recipe will leave your skin moisturized and soft, thanks to rich cocoa butter and coconut oil. We love its whipped consistency that goes on smoothly and feels light to the touch.
Whipped Body Butter
Ingredients
- 1 cup organic coconut oil
- 1 cup organic solid cocoa butter (do not use lotion)
- 15 drops of your favorite topical/aromatic essential oil (we love Cedarwood, Lavender, and Frankincense essential oils)
Directions
- Warm a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, then add coconut oil and cocoa butter. Melt until completely liquefied, about 4–5 minutes.
- Pour into a glass mixing bowl and place in refrigerator for 30–45 minutes to cool and just set but not harden.
- Stir in essential oils.
- Using an electric hand mixer, whip until firm peaks form, about 10 minutes.
- Gently transfer to a seal-able jar or container. Store at room temperature to avoid melting or solidifying.
- Massage into dry skin!

I love to add Lavender and Frankincense for my DIY skincare products. It smells amazing and is great support for my skin. Grapefruit smells good, too. ;)
I would use Geranium, Frankincense and Myrrh. This looks luscious!

Yep, definitely use Frankincense & Lavender and I’d add Helichrysum & Geranium. Mmm Lovely, just so, so lovely. Anyone getting the feeling they’re in a world all on their own yet ?
I love to diffuse Lavender and Cedarwood together, so I think that a body butter utilizing that combination would be soothing and wonderful!
Lavender and Geranium with a bit of Frankincense would be my choice.

Manuka, Lavender, Carrot Seed, and Geranium are the oils I would use in this body butter.
I love using Stress Away in whipped body butter with cocoa butter as an ingredient! It’s a vacation in a bottle.
Lavender/Geranium blends nicely for a floral. Yet, a blend of Peppermint and Rosemary can be very invigorating in the morning. Sacred Mountain is awesome for the men in the house.
I’m going to use Geranium Lavender and Frankincense in mine! Might even include Ylang Ylang!

Body butters are a great way to also share your oils. You can make a combo to support healthy body systems, or as a dilution vehicle if you have sensitive skin or for kids.
