Homemade Body Butter Recipe

Be kind to your hard-working skin! This homemade body butter recipe will leave your skin moisturized and soft, thanks to rich cocoa butter and coconut oil. We love its whipped consistency that goes on smoothly and feels light to the touch.

Whipped Body Butter

Ingredients

  • 1 cup organic coconut oil
  • 1 cup organic solid cocoa butter (do not use lotion)
  • 15 drops of your favorite topical/aromatic essential oil (we love Cedarwood, Lavender, and Frankincense essential oils)

Directions

  1. Warm a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, then add coconut oil and cocoa butter. Melt until completely liquefied, about 4–5 minutes.
  2. Pour into a glass mixing bowl and place in refrigerator for 30–45 minutes to cool and just set but not harden.
  3. Stir in essential oils.
  4. Using an electric hand mixer, whip until firm peaks form, about 10 minutes.
  5. Gently transfer to a seal-able jar or container. Store at room temperature to avoid melting or solidifying.
  6. Massage into dry skin!

  • I make Lavender body lotion before but I did not whip it I will be trying this soon I give homemade Christmas gifs infused with essential oils and this will be perfect. Lavender and Lemon Lip Balm is great too made with bee's wax. I just love Young Living Essential Oils Lavender and Cedarwood and Frankincense oil are my favorites.

  • I would choose lemon, lavender, and peppermint to help support overall health or Joy to start the day.

  • I will either try Patchouli as I love its scent when I diffuse it in my home. It reminds me of my Grandmother's home when I was a little girl.

  • I LOVE this body butter!!!! I just made a new batch for myself for winter. I did my summer one with YL Melrose blend. Happy and outdoorsy. My winter one I just did with Abundance Blend. I love the warm slightly spiciness and all the benefits of this blend. My Crown Diamond Danette Goodyear first introduced my to Abundance at a class she held, and from there it has infused so many areas of my life.
