Be kind to your hard-working skin! This homemade body butter recipe will leave your skin moisturized and soft, thanks to rich cocoa butter and coconut oil. We love its whipped consistency that goes on smoothly and feels light to the touch.
Whipped Body Butter
Ingredients
- 1 cup organic coconut oil
- 1 cup organic solid cocoa butter (do not use lotion)
- 15 drops of your favorite topical/aromatic essential oil (we love Cedarwood, Lavender, and Frankincense essential oils)
Directions
- Warm a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, then add coconut oil and cocoa butter. Melt until completely liquefied, about 4–5 minutes.
- Pour into a glass mixing bowl and place in refrigerator for 30–45 minutes to cool and just set but not harden.
- Stir in essential oils.
- Using an electric hand mixer, whip until firm peaks form, about 10 minutes.
- Gently transfer to a seal-able jar or container. Store at room temperature to avoid melting or solidifying.
- Massage into dry skin!
I’m thinking of PanAway and Copiabia to also help support muscles. Plus the smell will be AMAZING

Great recipe! I would add a few drops of lavender, frankincense, and myrrh. Three great oils to help support skin and I love their fragrance!
Bergamot, ylang ylang, and elemi!
Frankincense and purification are in my skin care roller so I’d probably try those out in this body butter too!
Several oils come to mind! Motivation, Envision or Abundance for anytime and Christmas Spirit for Christmas time!

I would definitely use lavender, that is my go to. But I would like to experiment with other scents too, maybe a cedarwood and peppermint for my guys.

I love to use geranium and lavender in my body butter.

Oh I use a hand-whipped blend just like this! I added Arrowroot powder. My essential oils that are in it currently are Gentle Baby and Lavender.
I’d use frankincense and tea tree initially, but would likely explore further with stress away, lavender, cypress, cedarwood and sandalwood!

I love DIY projects. I’m loving the combination of Lime and Bergamot and the coconut oil and butters will add a slightly sweet aroma.
