Be kind to your hard-working skin! This homemade body butter recipe will leave your skin moisturized and soft, thanks to rich cocoa butter and coconut oil. We love its whipped consistency that goes on smoothly and feels light to the touch.
Whipped Body Butter
Ingredients
- 1 cup organic coconut oil
- 1 cup organic solid cocoa butter (do not use lotion)
- 15 drops of your favorite topical/aromatic essential oil (we love Cedarwood, Lavender, and Frankincense essential oils)
Directions
- Warm a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, then add coconut oil and cocoa butter. Melt until completely liquefied, about 4–5 minutes.
- Pour into a glass mixing bowl and place in refrigerator for 30–45 minutes to cool and just set but not harden.
- Stir in essential oils.
- Using an electric hand mixer, whip until firm peaks form, about 10 minutes.
- Gently transfer to a seal-able jar or container. Store at room temperature to avoid melting or solidifying.
- Massage into dry skin!
I made my body butter with Abundance. I get so many comments on my “perfume” its awesome.

I love grapefruit and frankincense in my body butter.
I use orange and cinnamon oils with vanilla. It’s the sweet smell of a cinnamon roll.

I made one for my grandfather with lavender frank and myrrh. He loves it.
I love the mix of Lang-ylang, vetiver, lavender, geranium and orange. These oils are giving a famntastic aroma, a bit earthy yet so floral and sweet.
Copaiba and Patchouli will be in my body butter♡
My most recent body butter blend includes Northern Lights Black Spruce, Lemon Myrtle, Frank and Stress Away – love the way these oils make my skin feel and smell!
I do lavender, Frankincense and gentle baby for everyday wear. Summer time I add in some carrot seed.
I do a night lotion with lavender, cedarwood and peace& calm
I will also try one with white Angelica and cedarwood :)

Ahh I think Frankincense and Myrrh would make a lovely combination for my skin.

I love Christmas Spirit and orange together. Even though Christmas Spirit has orange adding a few extra drops just makes it smell even more yummy! (The smelll of oranges reminds me of Christmas stockings.)😊

I made almost this exact recipe as Christmas gifts, except I added some Vitamin E oil too. I gave away body butters in Thieves, lemon creme, lavender eucalyptus and peppermint.
I also make a sugar scrub with coconut oil, sugar and essential oils that is awesome.

I might try rose hip oil as my carrier with coconut oil oil can’t wait to mix with frankincense lavender and lemon
I would use Neroli, Roman Chamomile and Rose. This blend is a clean light scent and is terrific for the skin.

Lavender, peace and calming and stress away
I love body butters! I have made mine with lime, and frankincense. I usually shower before bed, this combination is grounding and peaceful.
I would use Lemon and Frankincense with 2 drops of Thieves oil. I would go a bit heavier on the Lemon oil because it is so refreshing. AND the Thieves
I think I will try lavender with a little peace and calming! I think it will be good for after a nice warm bath before bed.
I would try stress away it’s my favorite and then I would try a lavender one for my daughter!

I absolutely love lavender, so calming and peaceful. I would also love a ‘summer’ batch, and I will use lemon for that, so refreshing!!
I have everything to whip this up this weekend. I think I’m going to try some of the warm fall oils – clove, ginger, cinnamon bark and orange! I love a mix that I use everyday with a carrier oil, which I use in my face twice a day – thieves, lavender, frankincense and purification. LOVE IT!
