Some days your skies are clear, blue, and beautiful—and some days your picnic plans are interrupted with an unexpected storm warning. But don’t worry! Ruined plans can be a bummer, but the sun will come out again soon. In the meantime, try one of these essential oil blends that will remind you of getting a great, big hug!
SARA: a hug for comfort
SARA™ is a sweet blend of Geranium, Ylang Ylang, and Rose. Think of SARA as a big sister, ready to wrap you up in a quilt, hand you a cup of cocoa, and comfort you with compassion. Try rubbing a drop of this blend onto your wrists when you feel like you could use a listening ear. Dilute it with a few drops of a carrier oil to keep your skin happy.
Present Time: a hug for gratitude
If you have way too many alarms set on your phone, an ever-growing to-do list, or a pile of dirty dishes that keeps doubling in size, you might want to reach for Present Time™. Diffuse this delicate scent as you take a minute to reconnect with the present and let go of the expectations you have for yourself. Once you feel calmer, consider doing those dishes before the leftovers grow legs!
Release: a hug for liberation
Ready to let go of some of the “nope” from your day? Throw on some jams, roll out your yoga mat, and diffuse Release™. After stretching out and focusing on your breathing, you might just feel like saying, “Heck yes!” instead.
Grounding: a hug from Mother Nature
Sometimes all we need is a little nature. Even if you can’t get outside, you can connect with your roots by taking a tech detox for a few hours while diffusing Grounding™. This blend of White Fir, Black Spruce, and Pine combines into a forest-inspired aroma. Close your eyes and breathe in the scent of the great outdoors as you enjoy some quiet time.
Hope: a hug for optimism
Looking for some sunshine? Try a little Hope™. While it can’t really change the weather, it might just be the bright spot on a dark day. This gentle blend can be added to a favorite lotion, diffused, or applied topically.
Peace & Calming: a hug for calm
Couldn’t we all use a little more Peace & Calming® in our lives? This gentle blend is one of our most popular essential oil blends, and for good reason! Whether you need a bear hug or are trying to settle in for a night’s hibernation, diffusing this scent adds a special something to the end of a long day.
Gathering: a hug for connection
It can be hard to gather your thoughts after a long day. Or gather your family for dinner. Or gather strength to keep up on your goals. Sound familiar? Try diffusing Gathering™ as you turn daily chaos into calmness by journaling, meditating, or writing an award-worthy to-do list.

Would love to try Valor! I enjoy Stress Away for opos calming purposes and hear the game about Valor!
I love Valor! And Release is amazing after a rough day as a human! I’m a newbie to Young Living and haven’t tried the others yet. The evergreen scents are my faves – Idaho Blue Spruce ♡
I love 3 Wise Men for helping my mind unwind
I did not realize Valor was a hug in a bottle. Good to know.😊
My absolute favourite is peace and calming! However my ER bonus of tranquil this month is a serious runner up! Love this company 😍
This post was perfectly timed. We unexpectedly said goodbye to our family pet yesterday. My kiddos took it pretty hard. We applied valor to the back of our necks for bravery as we headed to the vets to say goodbye.
So sorry about your loss Kristen! Glad you could find some comfort with Valor during a difficult time.
Peace & Calming is one of my favorites. I used it regularly towards spring/summer. I’m a school teacher and now that smell reminds me of summer vacation. In April/May I’d just open the bottle and sniff to feel relaxed!
Stress Away is the oil that “hooked” me. Peace and Calming and Release are also oils I use regularly.
Stress Away, Valor, cedar wood…..the list goes on…..!!!
Everything sounds. So. Very. AMAZING! Love it!!!
When I’m having a tough day I like to rub a little valor, peace and calming and stress away on the back of my neck to help bring me peace and courage.
Losing a loved one made me find my oily way and I love peace and calming and currently figuring what is next for my ER
I use Vaor, Peace and Calming, Abundance, Grounding, Ylang Ylang, and Stress Away on my forearms a daily basis.
I love Peace and Calming for a bit of Zen in our busy family household!
Rc and Orange are some of my favorites
I do not have any of those oils mentioned above. I love Peace and Calming! Also Lavender and Stress Away! They help me to relax!
Inner Child is my go too these days. My hug to from beyond telling me you are a good parent.💗
I haven’t tried a YL oil I didn’t like or didn’t help. Love my oils.
I love Valor and Stress away
I want to try them all.
We all need a hug now and then! Love YL EO! Thank you for sharing these “hugs”
Such wonderful sounding oils. I look forward to getting those in my future orders. I know when to use them now!
I love Valor. I used it many years ago when I was going through my level 2 Reflexology class. I had forgotten about it until I started with YL back in February. I got Valor II, but it was not the same. The Valor came back and my life has not been the same since. This oil is amazing. It helps me when I need it for strength and courage and has never let me down. I am so glad to be reunited with this awesome oil. I gave not had the opportunity it try any of the other oils listed in the article, however I have added them to my list. I am a single parent with a 7 and 8 year old and commute to work everyday. These oils will be great to incorporate in my daily life to help find some peace in each day.
I love peace and calming and lavendar together !! I’m a high stress person so I would LOVE to try these thanks for the chance to do so !’
I’ve always wanted to try Valor and have never had the chance. My go to for calming currently is Stress Away for me, and when needed, Peace and Calming for my kids.
I’m facing a lot of dental work and could really use a hug!
I love Release, Valor, Cedarwood and Lavender for relaxing!
I love all the oils listed!!! And my go to oils are peace and calming and as of late Cypress and Aroma Life as well😊
I have a spray of valor, eucalyptus and tea tree that I spray in the shower to start my day. Valor and Peace & Calming are a great combination for grounding after a hard day at work.
Sacred Mountain is what I call my soul oil. Absolutely love it! One of my favorites!
Lavender!!!!!!!❤
I have valor and love it. I haven’t used the others mentioned in this article yet. But I also think of Peace and Calming II that way, like being wrapped in a hug!
yay! :D valor and highest potential are my lifesavers this week.
I like to use Peace and Calm. Also Joy to lift me up and Stress Away to help keep me be in a good state of happiness.
I use 2 drops Lavender and 1 drop Geraniun essential oil in a warm bath for relaxation. My mother was amazed by how strong and sweet this blend is with just a few drops.
I love stress away with lavender! I haven’t tried these ones yet bc I’m still new to YL!
I use a lot of cedarwood for restful evenings and sleep, stress away gets me through traffic and tough days in crowds.
Release & Gathering are favorites of mine… As I read this article I remembered I had Sacred Mountain in a secret stash & opened up right away… Looking forward to seeing how this makes me feel.
Envision is one of my favorites for peace and comfort because I feel comforted when I have renewed focus and a positive outlook on the future:). Believe is definitely another one! There are so many amazing ones!
My favorite is stress away!
Sounds cool!!
Magnify your Purpose & Stress Away are my favourite oils in this summer!!
Today was definitely one of THOSE days for me! Picture this scene: My 17 daughter was driving me (because I have a hurt neck and I can’t turn safely to check my blind spots), my 15 year old son, who wasn’t feeling well when we left the house, is in the back seat. And I’m in the passenger seat Feeling a little on edge, (on steroids for injured neck and well my 17 year old is behind the wheel). We are in the center lane of traffic, with cars on both sides, when my son says, “I think I’m going to throw… BLAGHHHH” to which he starts throwing up in my car… my daughter freaks out, “I don’t know what to do, what do I do…”. Of course, I (feeling like a a lunatic already because of the steroids) start yelling at her to go, and pull over. She starts crying, he’s still puking, and I’m feeling like mother of the year…. Tonight after many hours and a thorough wipe down of the car, we had a good laugh about the situation, my son is feeling better, and I currently have purification in the car. I’m praying the stench is gone by tomorrow. I really need a hug and to diffuse something relaxing!
Ohhh….how does one answer this?!! So many amazing oils for peace & comfort but my faves: Stress Away, Peace & Calming, Valor and Joy. I have heard amazing things about Higheat Potential for peace when working on anything business-related :) And, who doesn’t LOVE hugs!!!
I LOVE Valor!! I used it right before I had my second c-section to deliver my second child. It definitely gave me the boost of courage I needed when the anxious feelings started.
Bergamot is my personal fav <3
I have been using Young Living for a while but have recently lost my way a bit. I want to get back on track and learn more about which oils do whst. These sound ideal for me as so sure could do with a hug xx
Thanks so much for posting this article, I am new to Young Living but am SO excited to try these oils, particularly for emotional support. I recently got the stress away and tranquil roll on, I love them and find that they really support me, definitely recommending!
While I love Peace & Calming, I must admit to loving tree oils more…probably because I love being in nature. Northern Lights blue spruce, Cedarwood, Idaho Balsam Fir and Cypress. They ground me so perfectly.
I would love to win this!
We love using Gary’s great day oils- valor, harmony, joy, and white angelica!
