Some days your skies are clear, blue, and beautiful—and some days your picnic plans are interrupted with an unexpected storm warning. But don’t worry! Ruined plans can be a bummer, but the sun will come out again soon. In the meantime, try one of these essential oil blends that will remind you of getting a great, big hug!
SARA: a hug for comfort
SARA™ is a sweet blend of Geranium, Ylang Ylang, and Rose. Think of SARA as a big sister, ready to wrap you up in a quilt, hand you a cup of cocoa, and comfort you with compassion. Try rubbing a drop of this blend onto your wrists when you feel like you could use a listening ear. Dilute it with a few drops of a carrier oil to keep your skin happy.
Present Time: a hug for gratitude
If you have way too many alarms set on your phone, an ever-growing to-do list, or a pile of dirty dishes that keeps doubling in size, you might want to reach for Present Time™. Diffuse this delicate scent as you take a minute to reconnect with the present and let go of the expectations you have for yourself. Once you feel calmer, consider doing those dishes before the leftovers grow legs!
Release: a hug for liberation
Ready to let go of some of the “nope” from your day? Throw on some jams, roll out your yoga mat, and diffuse Release™. After stretching out and focusing on your breathing, you might just feel like saying, “Heck yes!” instead.
Grounding: a hug from Mother Nature
Sometimes all we need is a little nature. Even if you can’t get outside, you can connect with your roots by taking a tech detox for a few hours while diffusing Grounding™. This blend of White Fir, Black Spruce, and Pine combines into a forest-inspired aroma. Close your eyes and breathe in the scent of the great outdoors as you enjoy some quiet time.
Hope: a hug for optimism
Looking for some sunshine? Try a little Hope™. While it can’t really change the weather, it might just be the bright spot on a dark day. This gentle blend can be added to a favorite lotion, diffused, or applied topically.
Peace & Calming: a hug for calm
Couldn’t we all use a little more Peace & Calming® in our lives? This gentle blend is one of our most popular essential oil blends, and for good reason! Whether you need a bear hug or are trying to settle in for a night’s hibernation, diffusing this scent adds a special something to the end of a long day.
Gathering: a hug for connection
It can be hard to gather your thoughts after a long day. Or gather your family for dinner. Or gather strength to keep up on your goals. Sound familiar? Try diffusing Gathering™ as you turn daily chaos into calmness by journaling, meditating, or writing an award-worthy to-do list.

We love our YL oils, use them in so many ways everyday.
I am new to oils in general so far I love Stress Away and so do my horses!
Release is one of my favorite oils! When I was grieving a major loss in my life, this oil over my hip points allowed me to really let go of the negativity I had been harboring!
Lavender and Frankencense are my go to for peacefulness :)
Oh I am so excited!! Just came across the blog and I’m so excited to find more tips and uses ! Is it ok to share these graphics with our team?
I would LOVE to be one of the lucky 4 chosen!
I have Release and use at night when I come home from work to unwind. Would like to try the other oils. Have been using oils for 7 months and what a difference in our lifestyle!
I love trauma life and white angelica for the tougher days i sometimes have
Love Valor and Peace & Calming. Stress Away is nice too. 💜💙💚💛❤
I love them all. Each has served me well.
Love Valor! I use before every class I teach.
I love Vetiver, Cedarwood, Frankincense and Stress Away! I enrolled with YL in November 2016 to gain some sense of grounding and comfort after the loss of my mom & sister. I’m diffusing Frank & RC now as I get ready to practice my morning yoga & meditation. These oils have also been outstanding in their support for my teenage son with ADHD! Thank you YL!
I love my YL oils! Valor and Gentle Baby are two of my faves right now.❤️
I have not tried Sacred Mountain but from your description I want to get it. Valor is so necessary for daily grounding. I have Present Time but haven’t used it consistently. These are wonderful suggestions. I think I need to set up a diffuser in multiple rooms and place the oils near the diffuser as a reminder. Thank you for the suggestions!
I love Surrender when I need to just let go of everything! Peace & Calming and Valor are my husbands hug in a bottle. 💧🌱
My favorite peace and comfort oils, and the ones I cannot live without, are Ylang-ylang, Citrus Fresh, Tangerine, Stress Away, Joy, Lavender, and Fun. My favorite diffuser blend, which also helps with allergies, is lavender, peppermint, and lemon. I sure would love to try Valor, Highest Potential, and Sacred Mountain!
I love Valor! It’s one of my favorite oils and I never leave home without it!!
I love Valor and have found that diffusing lemon, lavender and peppermint really just makes me happy. 😊
Love Valor and I also find that diffusing lemon, lavender and peppermint just really makes me feel happy. 😊
I have enjoyed diffusing Lavendar, or Peace & Calming, or Orange & Cedarwood for a relaxing night.
Who couldn’t use some hugs and help? I’ve found Stress Away and Peace & Calming to be very helpful. I’m new to YL and would love to try these blends!
I need all of these in my life lol
One of my all time favorites to diffuse at night is Sacred Mountain – I feel the peace of a forest as I fall to sleep!
I love my Peace & Calming. I just found Valor and love that too!!
My favorite is stress away, with epsom salt, for baths.
As a brand new member (have never even tried essential oils before) and waiting for my starter kit to arrive, reading this blog post made me realize these products needs to go to the top of my “wish list”. Our family has gone through many transformations in the past 2 years, including the passing of both my parents within 6 months of each other, the onset of fibromyalgia in myself and trying to adjust to a whole new lifestyle due to limitations from this illness, disappointments my daughter has felt in not pursuing her chosen career in theater to move home to care for her grandparents and then most recently not receiving a job offer she was hoping to get to provide her the means to be more independent, and of course general family turmoil as we all go through these changes. Top that with a husband who wants to move across the country ASAP to a state where we do not know anyone and boy, do we need these oils in our life! My daughter and I are so excited to start this journey!
My Young Living Essential Oils for emotional support have made an incredible difference in my life! I was actually surprised how helpful they were. SO grateful to face my challenges equipped with Young Living!
Valor has always been helpful to me and I’d love the opportunity to try some of these other blends.
I LOVE Valor for parent/ teacher conferences and meetings as a teacher!!! 💜💜💜
Been with YL for over a year and am LOVING supporting wellness using thier products. My favorite oil is Stressaway because…Life happens! I’d love to try Present Time though.
I just got my starter kit this month! So far I have enjoyed stress away (saving it for those first days of school since I’m a teacher) and using the diffuser with lavender and peppermint.
My number one oil for peace and comfort is Frankincense! It has such as calming effect on my mind and body that no other oil seems to be able to achieve. Other winners for me are: Valor, Peace and Calming, Stress Away and, suprisingly, Orange- there’s something about citrus that lifts the mood!
I would love to have more “hugs in a bottle!” Stress Away is my favorite one, but since I’m still relatively new, I have a lot more oils to try out.
Thanks to Stress Away I no longer have to take Lexapro or any other medication. I still have occasional sad days…I sure could use a HUG!
I have Valor and love it. I would love to try the rest of these.
I always feel so uplifted and encouraged when I use Joy oil as well! Excited to try out Valor and Sacred Mountain soon…and then I’ll work my way through the list because they all sound AMAZING!
Lavender all the way! 💜
Peace & calming and lavender!!
Joy and lavender are my two favorite oils for peace and calming!!
I love valor for a boost of confidence in everyday life as well as those times when I am speaking to groups of people. I 💜 the pleasant scent and the way I feel after using it.
I just joined also. I so far like peppermint for headaches and prior and post jogging. Eucalyptus and Stress Away are also at the top.
I’ve been admiring young living for a few years now. Due too really bad medical problems I have been unable to sign up. I’m back to work and trying to catch up on bills. In about a month I’m hoping to sign up. Purification and frankincense are two of my faves oh and stress away. I don’t know what I would do with out stress away. Can’t wait to become part of young living.
I am currently diffusing Peace and Calming as I read this article. I bought Valor for the first time and my husband says he felt an immediate effect when he inhaled it. It’s coming with us on our vacation!
Sacred mountain, valor, and release are on my list to order in the future. Now I add Hope and present time. Thank you for enlightening me. I love reading about the blends.
I have none of these oils yet! I have the original 15ml bottle of Valor but I want to try
the new one. I really need to try present time and release. Two things that I need help with in my everyday life.
I love peace and calming and stress away. Two of my favorites!
I would love to try Valor! ^❤
I love the sense of calm I get when I inhale Stress Away. I have been in a tremendous amount of stress for a while and some days are a struggle. I am trying to mindfully lean to my essential oils for support. I am learning more about many of these that are mentioned here and am looking forward to adding them to my collection and seeing how they can support me and my family. I love discovering new options.
Do these oils come in a kit? I need every single one of them and I’m going to go out on a limb and say every other parent of a teenager does too!
Hey Janine! We don’t have this as a kit, but Young Living does have a Feelings Kit: https://www.youngliving.com/us/en/product/feelings-kit-essential-oil-collection that has some of the oils mentioned in this post.
Grounding and Surrender are favs in our home.
