These popular essential oils you must know—Lemon essential oil, Thieves essential oil blend, Peppermint essential oil, Cedarwood essential oil, Frankincense essential oil, and Lavender essential oil—have an application that’s right for the situation at hand.
LEMON ESSENTIAL OIL
Naturally occurring constituent: d-limonene
Besides smelling amazing, Lemon essential oil is also a workhorse around the house. It’s useful in your toiletries bag, too. Since it may improve the healthy appearance and sheen of hair. It’s one of the most popular essential oils. And it may reduce the appearance of blemishes.*
Use Lemon essential oil:
- To eliminate odors. Diffuse this refreshing and energizing scent anywhere musty smells tend to arise. Put 2–3 drops on a cotton ball and place at the bottom of the diaper or garbage pail. It can keep things fresh.
- To freshen surfaces. Add to natural household cleaners before wiping down dirty surfaces.
- In your beauty routine. Add to skin care products to reduce the appearance of blemishes. You can also add to conditioner or DIY hair masks. It will bring out hair’s natural shine.
THIEVES ESSENTIAL OIL
Naturally occurring constituents: limonene, eucalyptol
We love our proprietary Thieves blend so much. We put it in everything (almost). But really, you’ll come to associate Thieves’ spicy, warm scent with its versatility and many uses.
Use Thieves essential oil:
- To refresh musty carpets. Combine 5 drops of Thieves with 1 cup of baking soda. After that let the mixture sit overnight. Sprinkle over carpets and allow to sit for 10–15 minutes before vacuuming.
- To eliminate odor. Add a few drops of Thieves essential oil blend to your dishwasher before running.
- To create an environment of peace and security. Diffuse wherever you need its comforting aroma.
PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OIL
Active component: menthol
Invigorate your senses with Peppermint oil’s aroma. You will enjoy its cooling sensation on your skin. Peppermint is a key ingredient in PanAway, AromaEase, Deep Relief Roll-On, and other blends. Peppermint essential oil is also one of the popular essential oils. Peppermint oil combines beautifully with other aromas.
Use Peppermint essential oil:
- For post-workout massage. Dilute a few drops of Peppermint in V-6™ Vegetable Oil Complex for a refreshing massage.

CEDARWOOD ESSENTIAL OIL

When it comes to essential oil powerhouses, you can’t get much better than Cedarwood. With uses ranging from your beauty routine to your outdoor space, Cedarwood’s versatility makes it a key part of any EO collection.
Use Cedarwood essential oil:
- To deter pests. Create an all-natural outdoor spray with Cedarwood and Lemongrass, Rosemary, or Citronella. Put them in a glass spray bottle full of distilled water.
- In your skin care. Put a drop or two in your moisturizer. It will gets you the skin-cleansing and moisturizing properties of this oil all in one go! Even better, Cedarwood is a great addition to any lotion, not just your face cream! Add it to a thick and yummy body butter or your regular hand lotion for extra moisture.
- As part of a relaxing routine. Put a few drops on your pillow before bedtime. Then breathe in its warm, soothing scent as you drift off to sleep.
- For your scalp. Add a few drops to your shampoo or conditioner every day to support the appearance of healthy hair.
FRANKINCENSE ESSENTIAL OIL
Naturally occurring constituents: alpha-pinene, limonene, sabinene, beta caryophyllene.
Frankincense often appears on lists of must-have essential oils, and for good reason! This ancient oil does it all. It can taking care of your skin. It can also creating a grounding environment for your spiritual practices and so much more.
Use Frankincense essential oil:
- To ground yourself. Diffuse it anytime especially during meditation or yoga. It can invite an elevated spiritual experience.
- For massage. Soothe sore muscles after activity with a palmful of V-6 and several drops of Frankincense.
- To highlight natural beauty. Put a few drops of Frankincense in your moisturizer or night cream may help promote healthy-looking skin.
LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL

A popular scent for everything from candles to face cream. Lavender is equal parts fresh, floral, and calm. Lavender is among those popular essential oils. Which is why Lavender essential oil is one of the biggest workhorses in your EO stash.
Use Lavender essential oil:
- To relax. Make bath salts with a calming scent by Lavender. Put four drops of Lavender in one cup of Epsom salt. Or use Lavender with a little bit of carrier oil for a soothing massage.
- For personal care. A drop or two of Lavender will enhance any beauty product. For example lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer. All get an upgrade with this oil’s classic scent.
- At bedtime. Diffuse next to your bed to create a calm atmosphere perfect for winding down.
