Set the stage for a great day by changing up your morning routine! Whether or not you’re an early riser, you can maximize your morning by taking the time to prepare for your day in the right way.
How often do you feel like your day started on the wrong foot? Some days your whole morning can seem unproductive and rushed, leaving you feeling weary and flustered—even before lunch. Here are three suggestions that can help you find your center and give your day the great foundation that it deserves.
However you like to work up a sweat—whether it’s kickboxing, yoga, weightlifting, running, or even a brisk walk—morning may be your best time to do it. Not only is it easier to make time for the gym in the morning, before your day’s other priorities crowd in, but it also helps you start the day feeling invigorated. A morning workout is just one healthy choice that can help motivate you to make other healthy choices throughout the day. Need some ideas to make morning fitness work for you? Try these:
- Go to bed early. Both a full night’s sleep and establishing good fitness habits are important.
- Use NingXia Nitro™ for a wolfberry-infused essential oil boost before you get moving.
- Listen to energizing music.
- Get outside and go for a morning walk; bring a pet or a friend with you.
- Practice exercises like morning yoga, which can help you stay grounded through your morning.
Planning a simple, delicious, healthful breakfast makes it easier to get up and provides crucial energy for your busy morning. Depending on your body and needs, you may want to eat breakfast before or after exercising. Either way, don’t skip out on the most important meal of the day!
- Make sure your breakfast includes plenty of fiber, such as oatmeal or whole-grain toast.
- Include a serving of fruit. Blend a handful of raspberries into your Chocolate or Vanilla Spice Pure Protein Complete™ shake or enjoy a slice of cantaloupe with toast.
- Have trouble remembering to take your daily Inner Defense™, Life 9™, Master Formula™, or other Young Living supplement each day? Make a habit of taking them with breakfast.
- Have a glass of water first thing in the morning to help hydrate your body after sleep. For a burst of citrus flavor, add a drop of Lemon Vitality™ or Grapefruit Vitality essential oil.
Your emotions in the morning can help set the tone for the rest of the day. When you’re feeling positive, generous, grateful, and inspired when you wake up, those feelings can change everything, from how effectively you work to how long the wait at the post office feels.
Not feeling positive, generous, grateful, or inspired? Try and chart a new course for your morning with a few simple exercises. First, try this simple breathing exercise to refresh your perspective and improve your sense of relaxation. Second, set your intention for the day by completing this sentence with a word that fits for you: “I want to feel _____ today.” Some examples to get you started include: calm, joyful, grateful, helpful, relaxed, in control, balanced, accomplished, and at ease. Find the word that fits your intentions for the day and make it your mission to experience it!

Morning Start Shower Gel wakes me up every time!
Hydration is always first to start my day with drops of Lemon Vitality in warm water. Then a concoction of water, lemon juice, ACV, ginger vitality, cinnamon and cayenne pepper to prepare for digestion support. Then meditation helps to centre my energy and spirit to begin my day from a grounded place. Working out in the morning is a usual occurrence, otherwise a challenge to fit it in later in the day.
Thank you for info. I have a hard time remembering to take life 5 because bottle said take at night.
I start my day by thanking God for a good night’s sleep. I have coffee with a couple of drops of peppermint vitality while I do my devotion/Bible study. I like to journal my thoughts and have the diffuser going with different combinations of oils depending on my need or feelings.
I have a 16 oz glass of water first thing with either slique or frankincense vitality, lemon vitality, and peppermint vitality in it, depending on the day. I then make coffee, have my prayer time and focus in on scriptures while kids are getting ready for day. Breakfast is either nuts and fruits or quinoa and fruit and cheese…workout time, then bam. Schooling and appointments. I try to keep my mornings simple and focused, but its hard to do. I drink tons of water (almost always with vitality oils in it), rely on God’s grace and Young Living oils to get me through the day!
You sound a lot like me! Now that it’s nice- I can have the window open and listen to the birds.
My daily routine?
1. Drink hot water (large mug) with 2-3 drops of Lemon eo
2. Drink a morning shake with Pure Protein (vanilla – yummm) and different citrus essential oils
3. Inhale Gratitude eo for several deep breathes and then writing down 10 things that I am grateful for – I really love this part!
This routine helps me to feel very awake and grateful in the morning, I can start immediately with planing my day and I plan before I switch on my laptop.
I like to start off my day with Lemon and Grapefruit oil in a glass of warm water or tea. I may even add it to my Ninjxia Red. Open my door facing the mountain and watch the mist as it review the mountain and just be grateful for that I have that moment.
I have found out that routine is the key word for me. Now I have had the same morning and evening routine for myself ever since I came home from the Berlin conference and it has made a difference in my life!
Every morning I wake up at 7.30. For the first thing, I write a few pages in my notebook about what ever is on my mind. I have a little bowl of oils by the side of my bed that I may apply from there. Then, I read a (self development) book until it’s 8.30. I then take an oil from my bowl and put a drop on my palm and rub it in both hands and just sit on the side of my bed, feet on the floor, eyes closed and smell the oil focusing just on the smell and sitting tall. (Ed Daily taught this at the convention) Then I get up, brush my teeth (with Thieves Toothpaste of course) apply Frankincense or Melaleuca Quinquenervia on my face with Lavender lotion, make my bed and get dressed. I eat a good breakfast and drink warm water with Lemon oil and a piece of ginger, and cold water with a citrus oil ( like Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit, etc.), a piece of ginger and a slice of lime.
My evening routine is similar. The big thing about these new routines for me was to do the same exact things in the same exact order at the same exact time every day, and that has brought a new sense of control to my day and makes me feel more powerful to start the work!
Thank You Young Living for the inspiration for this from the Berlin convention!
Totally agree.
Just need to get into a routine and do it daily
I need to do this
Thanks
Thanks for the great tips.
One of mine has to do with perspective and setting the tone.
I do this twice a day….
one has to do with diffusing some or a combo of Young Living Essential Oils as we go to sleep, but prior to that we do a personal oil application, which could also be labeled a simple anointing. Whatever oils we use at night whether is be Egyptian Gold, Christmas Spirit, Thieves, Gratitude, The Gift, Sensation…really whatever EO or EOs we choose, we set out intention and give thanks for the day…for what we’ve accomplished, what we loved about the day, what we learned and for this time of rest and rejuvenation.
Then in the morning we also do an EO application with Young Living Essential Oils that includes giving thanks, feeling gratitude for the night’s rest, for the “tasks” that are ours to do this new day, for the new day itself, for the blessing we will receive this new day,for the blessing we will offer this new day, and we give thanks for the blessings we have….
The oils we use in the morning always include two blends White Angelica and Joy. Other oils we may use as we set our intention for the day may be some of the same we use at night, or Clarity, Abundance, Harmony, Release, Valor, Build Your Dream, Light The Fire, Believe, 3 Wise Men, SARA, Amorescence.
We live kind of in the city/country and our house backs up to a retention pond. It is really quiet and clear so before morning’s first light, I like to take my Bible, coffee, Frankincense and my Devotional book and Journal and go outside and look up at the stars and moon and just sit in awestruck wonder of the Creator of the Universe and this is what helps me get my emotions on track and my perspective set for the day. I love my oils and YL Frankincense just helps me stay grounded and focused.
Beautifully said Robin!
Good inspiration! I also find it helpful to prepare the night before by having work clothes ready and lunch planned for the next day. I like to have some YL peppermint and lemon in my diffuser while getting ready for work.

Love this idea! Thanks for sharing!
In addition to all the above great information, an excellent way to start your day actually happens the night before! In the evening, make a list of the six most important things you intend to accomplish for the following day. Rank them in order of importance. Then when you get up and “get moving,” tackle item one on your list. Only when that is complete, go on to item two. When that is all done, do the third item. And so on down the list. Making the plan the night before leaves about 12 hours for your subsconscious mind to work on making conditions right forthe items to be completed easily. Whatever you get done will be the most important things on your list. The rest that you can’t get to, can go on your list for the day after.
I like to start my day early with scrambled eggs and Ningxia Red and my oil supplements. Taking it easy for a quite prayer.
Before I even get out of bed I say my prayer of thanks for another day. This helps me set my mood and start off on the right foot. I also love drinking a glass of lemon peppermint water as I am getting ready. The water helps clear my head from the morning fog and helps me get going in my day.
I begin my morning by making a “Must Do List” the night before. When I wake up, I make a cup of coffee and read my Bible. After my quiet time, I eat breakfast, and head for the shower. Before I leave the house, I check YL numbers, emails, Facebook messages. If anything needs to be added to my list, I pencil in the update and head out. Each day is a gift from God and I have much to be thankful for, so I get busy with the opportunities I have for the day.
You have a great attitude, Sheryl! Thanks for posting!
I have never been much of a water drinker. Just this month I began a totally new habit of drinking a full glass of water with Peppermint oil as soon as I awake. Each night I put one or two drops of YL Peppermint oil in a glass of water and keep it on the night stand near my bed. That way whenever I get up, it is ready for me. I have been surprised how easy this is for me to get down one full glass of water before my day even begins. It actually brings a smile to my face as I realize I am enjoying doing something very beneficial. It helps start my day on a positive note.
I like to start my morning on my frontporch in the fresh air with prayer I love being out early when the fog has not yet lifted everything looks fresh and anew day has begun
