A. Yes, it contains a high amount of monoterpenes. Other essential oils high in monoterpenes include Galbanum and Hyssop.
Q. How much essential oil does the resin contain?
A. The gum resins, when distilled, contain approximately 5–9 percent essential oil.
Q. How much resin is required to produce a 15-ml bottle?
A. The essential oil content of the resin varies, but it takes about 75–200 grams (1/4–1/2 pound) of resin to produce one 15-ml bottle of oil.
Q. I see flecks in the oil. What is it?
A. Small flecks that may appear are residual resin. The essential oil is still appropriate for use, but you can filter the oil to remove the remaining resin if you prefer.
