This necklace was crafted by Bee, an artisan of Starfish Project in Northeastern Asia. Starfish Project is an organisation that helps women and girls who have escaped human trafficking and exploitation by providing the tools needed to build independent lives. Starfish Project also provides holistic care programs, life skills training, and specialised vocational training to help women develop careers in fields such as design, photography, and accounting.

Bee did not have the opportunity to complete her education, however, through Starfish Project she has been able to take literacy classes and receive a certification in Microsoft Word. Through her work at Starfish Project, Bee has been able to develop new passions and explore different careers, stating that one day she hopes to become a makeup artist.
