Finca Botanica Farm and Distillery

CHONGON (GUAYQUIL), ECUADOR

Established 2006

Building this farm and its state-of-the- art distillery started as one of Gary Young’s passion projects. Today Guayaquil’s tropical climate helps nurture Young Living’s 2,000 acres of rich soil, year-round harvests, and lush botanical life. This farm supports a year-round growing season of an abundance of palo santo trees, ruta graveolens, and many more local plants and herbs.

LOOKING AFTER THE ENVIRONMENT AND COMMUNITY

It's estimated that orchids make up one-fourth of the plants in Ecuador, and 85 percent of them are endangered. The Young Living Orchidarium and Conservation Project plans to mass propagate the endangered orchids of Ecuador and reintroduce them in protected forests.

Mera Ocotea Farm

PATAZA PROVINCE, ECUADOR

Established 2018

The Mera Ocotea Farm occupies nearly 120 acres in Ecuador’s Pastaza Province. The province benefit from year-round rain, the primary water source for what will soon be 6,000 Ocotea trees. This native Ecuadorian tree produces Ocotea essential oil, which contains the naturally occurring constituent alpha-humulene and is commonly used for its soothing and comforting benefits. The farm will be surrounded by wildlife corridors, which will link habitats that protect and re-establish threatened populations.

LOOKING AFTER THE ENVIRONMENT AND COMMUNITY

This farm developed a sustainable ecological plan to protect waterways and prevent erosion in ravines, maintain a sustainable percentage of larger trees, balance production with biodiversity, and preserve an orchid sanctuary.

Finca Victoria Farm

Ciudad Victoria, Mexico

Partner Since 2018

The Finca Victoria Farm comprises 2,400 acres of rich farmland, with 50 groves of hand-tended fruit trees. Fresh lime and grapefruit rinds are cold-pressed on-site to produce essential oils of the highest quality. This farm is currently on track to becoming a zero-waste facility, where every remaining part of the fruit is put to good use.

LOOKING AFTER THE ENVIRONMENT AND COMMUNITY

Finca Victoria Farm runs an annual reforestation program alongside the nearby community. Each September, it provides 2,000 trees to surrounding schools and parks. The farm also provides the rural community with trash and recycling bins. This partner farm employs more than 60 percent of the residents within the community. A Partner Farm grant from Young Living helped the farm purchase a bus, making it easier and safer for workers to travel to and from the facility and farm.
