The Young Living Lavender Farm and Distillery is an iconic lavender farm, not only to Young
Living but also to the essential oil movement and the wellness community. This lavender farm is
just a short drive from Young Living Global Headquarters and is home to events such as the
Lavender Day festival, the Essential Oils and Animals Conference, and more.

The Young Living Lavender Farm and Distillery is where Young Living has compiled
one of the most extensive libraries of horticultural data related to aromatic plant
production in the world, with information on harvesting, testing, and much more.
This farm is also a waystation for beautiful monarch butterflies, where they can rest and feed during their migration between Canada and Northern Mexico.

The Skyrider Wilderness Ranch — nestled in the hills of Tabiona, Utah, and home to stunning vistas and wildlife — held a special place in Young Living Founder D. Gary Young’s heart. The ranch occupies 28 square miles in one of the largest pinyon pine forests in the world. It’s also home to 8–12 beehive colonies that pollinate the plants and help maintain a healthy ecosystem.

The ranch is also the site of the D. Gary Young Wildlife Sanctuary, a conservation easement held by The Nature Conservancy that spans about 10,880 acres. The donation of this land was the largest in the Utah chapter’s history. This sanctuary is part of an area called the “Utah Serengeti” due to the large herds of elk and deer that migrate through there. The ranch maintains sections of ground specifically to help the animals through the harsh winters.

This ranch is a new addition to our Tabiona ranch family. Located near Young Living’s Skyrider Wilderness Ranch, the Skyrider River Ranch is beautiful land dedicated to furthering essential oil research. Purchased in 2017, the ranch grows many botanicals for essential oil production and research including Goldenrod, Einkorn, Lavender, Melissa, and more.

Our St. Maries Lavender Farm and Distillery is where everything started. In 1992 Gary Young
brought lavender seeds from Provence, France, and planted them on the 200 acres of land that
now make
up this beautiful farm. Today this farm contributes to the production of our famous
Lavender essential oil and other botanicals.

This farm’s Firetube Boiler was converted to be fueled by propane which greatly reduced the emissions level, as opposed to
previously running off Diesel. In addition to these efforts, 20,000 Blue Spruce seedlings have been planted in St. Maries,
which will support the replenishment of oxygen. Local students and high school honors biology programs visit the farm to learn
about these sustainability efforts, Seed to Seal®, and equitable farming practices. The farm also sponsors local community
programs such as the Summer Sunset concert series.

Located in scenic Naples,
Idaho, the Highland Flats Tree Farm and Distillery is home to some of
the beautiful evergreen trees that help Young Living produce many coniferous essential oils.
This location is not only a blue spruce farm but is also home to one of the world’s largest
essential oil distilleries. It’s the location of Young Living’s annual Winter Harvest and Spring
Planting projects, which allow members to experience portions of our Seed to Seal® quality
commitment firsthand.
LOOKING AFTER THE ENVIRONMENT AND COMMUNITY
The farm practices no-till, regenerative farming in an effort to cultivate the highest-quality conifer trees possible. The farm crew
uses all leftover plant material from distillation to mulch the fields and improve fertility. They also partner with local logging
operations to reuse their byproducts to distill essential oils. In logging, the byproducts are typically burned, so the farm
is also
reducing emissions by using the leftover material, supporting fertility and sequestering carbon. In addition to these
efforts, this
corporate farm donates Christmas trees for auction, with the proceeds donated to the local fire department.

After extensive scouting and research in 2014, Young Living purchased land in British
Columbia, Canada, for the Northern Lights Farm and Distillery.
This corporate farm serves as
Young Living’s main
source of Black Spruce essential oil, an important ingredient in many
popular Young Living blends
including Shutran™, Harmony™, Awaken™, and Envision™.
Ever mindful of the care it takes to preserve and protect these beautiful forests, the Northern Lights farm obtained a horticulture license and coordinated with local governments to manage the nearby forests. By thinning out old and dying trees, the farm enables surviving trees to grow and thrive.

The farm joins the annual Christmas Parade to support the nearby Fort Nelson Family Development Society, which provides resources to help children and families reach their potential. It also pitches in to support the high school music department through bottle deposit returns and donates prizes to youth sports tournaments

Young Living’s partnership with the
Kona Sandalwood Reforestation Project is a great example
of how Young Living and our partners strive to preserve cultural values. At this location, only
dead or dying sandalwood is harvested to maintain the ecological balance on the island and to
follow the deeply rooted Hawaiian belief in humans’ respectful relationship with the land.

Since all supplies and equipment used for the project must either be trucked in or created on-site, the project has established a zero-waste standard. The water processed through the distillery is reused in power washers that wash root balls before they’re chipped. The runoff from the power washers then feeds the project’s reservoirs, which can be used in the case of a fire. Spent chips left over from the distillation process are used as dust management on the roads and are also donated to a local horse stable as ground cover for the stalls.
Since the project is located on a remote part of the island, its power must be created or gathered on-site. All electricity used in the cabin living quarters and education center is fed by more than 60 solar roof panels. In addition to these efforts, the Kona Sandalwood Reforestation Project has hosted over 100 schools, Boy Scout troops, and community leaders, teaching them about the ecosystem, the trees, and what they can do to preserve the forest for future generations.
